European Ecological Forestry in Ohio
Conserve the Canopy
Boone Road Enterprises, LLC manages all of its Ohio forests with a focus on nature. Frequent, gentle timber harvests are conducted with the goal to improve the overall ecosystem. Additionally, we collect data on our forests and the life that inhabits them to understand the effects of our forestry practices on biodiversity.
What even is European ecological forestry, anyways? At Boone Road we follow Close-to-Nature Forestry (CTNF), also known as Continuous Cover Forestry (CCF). This forest management model is used in almost a third of all European forests - that’s nearly 200 million acres - and focuses on sustainable practices that promote resilient forests and ecological biodiversity.
Why European Forestry?
At Boone Road, our goal is to inspire change through research and education, to encourage open dialogue, and to challenge the status quo of forestry in the United States. We are passionate about Ohio native species, both plants and animals, especially those that are harmed by habitat fragmentation and degradation.
